Culture in Prague - Opera, Concerts, Folklore, Black Light Theatre, Medieval Show

National Theatre - is one of the most important Czech cultural institutions. The ceremonial laying of the foundation stone in 1868 became a national event. The theatre's repertoire include most famous operas by A. Dvorak, B. Smetana, G. Puccini, G. Bizet, drama and ballet. The repertoire is based on a rich classical tradition, but also focuses on contemporary domestic authors.
The Estates Theatre - one of the most beautiful historic theatre buildings in Europe which dates from 1783. The name of W. A. Mozart is forever linked with the building and it was here that he personally conducted the premiere of Don Giovanni in 1787. Mozart operas - Don Giovanni, The Magic Flute, Cosi fan tutte and Le nozze di Figaro - are still in the repertoire.
State Opera - is located in a beautiful building, the former New German Theatre, built in 1888. The repertoire is made up of successful versions of the most popular operas by W. A. Mozart, G. Verdi, G. Puccini and G. Bizet.

MUSIC PRAGUE THEATRE the untraditional concept of the play and classical music inspired by the life stories of famous musicians in Prague is conducted in the 18th and 19th century historical salons. The soloists of the National Theatre and the State Opera Prague, musicians and dancers are dressed in exquisite historical costumes. Welcome drink included.

"A night with Mozart" free historical reconstruction of the story of W. A. Mozart and Josefina Duskova from November 3th, 1787 describing background of the famous concert aria "Bella mia fiamma addio!". Famous arias of Don Giovanni and Figaro's Marriage are presented . The performance is held in the villa Bertramka, the Mozart Museum and the place of Mozart's stay in 1787. Presented in German or Czech language, arias in the Italian original. MARIONETTE THEATRE - presentation of the opera Don Giovanni in the unique version using the classical marionettes. Tall marionettes as well as the stylish period costumes and original stage effects can be seen in the performance. It is presented in the original Italian librette and lasts about two hours. FOLKLORE GARDEN - unforgettable evening that will get you in touch with the Czech soul and tradition. You will be able to savor hearty Czech food, have lots of fun, and learn a great deal about the Czech people, their music, dance, and folklore. The show lasts 2,5 hour starting at 8pm. It is located outside the center, transportation is needed.
